Manifesto
Artists Rule The Universe, and the platform that serves them should act like it.
Recorded music is the most-loved art form on earth, and the people who make it are paid the worst. Streaming pays fractions of a penny. Distribution platforms take a cut and call it a favour. Algorithms decide who's heard. Auto-tune and AI flatten what's left. Adverts interrupt the rest.
ARTU exists because none of that is inevitable. It's a set of choices made by companies that don't write songs, don't play shows, and don't care if music survives as a serious art form. We make different choices.
Zero commission on sales
When an artist sells music, merch, tickets or anything else, 100% of the sale goes to the artist. We run the infrastructure at cost. The platform takes nothing.
Pay-what-you-feel membership
The platform is funded by members, not adverts and not artist commissions. A sensible minimum, adjusted by country and income. Nobody is priced out and nobody is monetised.
Curated, not open
Streaming is a curated library with direct royalties and transparent dashboards. We are not racing to host a billion songs. We're hosting the right ones, paid properly.
No algorithm, no ads, no AI music
No engagement-maximising feed. No interruptions. No machine-generated tracks dressed up as art. Discovery is human, editorial, and accountable.
Pro tools, built for working artists
The LEFT BRAIN suite handles the organised side of an artist's life, invoicing, contracts, scheduling, finances, shop, events, so the right brain can stay on the music.
Owned by the people who use it
ARTU is built to serve artists and members, not shareholders. Decisions are made in public, on the roadmap, with the community that funds them.
If you make music, sell music, or love music enough to pay for it directly, you belong here.
